As the Senior Director of Market Safety Quality Patient Experience, you will lead all safety, quality and patient experience efforts across every site of care within the Ohio market. In this high-impact role, you will direct four submarket directors and oversee a growing team of nearly 100 caregivers while ensuring full compliance with reporting, accreditation and governance requirements. You will drive the system’s STEEEP approach to high-quality care by standardizing assurance and improvement processes, partnering closely with experts in nursing quality, accreditation, EHS, radiation safety, high reliability and infection prevention. Working alongside market leadership and medical staff, you will monitor clinical outcomes, identify opportunities for improvement and lead initiatives that strengthen quality and safety across hospitals and ambulatory locations. A caregiver in this role will work Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
- Direct safety, quality and patient experience activities across all inpatient and ambulatory sites within the market
- Ensure compliance with reporting, accreditation and governance requirements while advancing the STEEEP focus on high-quality care
- Lead submarket and hospital SQPE teams to ensure consistent assurance and improvement processes
- Collaborate with expert leaders in nursing quality, accreditation, EHS, patient experience, radiation safety, safety, high reliability and infection prevention to support a unified approach to care excellence
- Implement Cleveland Clinic’s commitment to objectives, key results and operations management
- Monitor clinical outcomes with medical staff partners, identify improvement opportunities and lead clinical improvement initiatives
- Ensure complete and accurate documentation of clinical activities and maintain an effective SQPE program across assigned markets
- Assist market and facility leaders with survey preparation and oversight of regulatory or accreditation surveys
- Ensure timely, appropriate responses to quality-of-care inquiries from regulatory agencies or third-party payers
- Integrate performance improvement practices, structures and results across the market
- Trend and provide physician-specific quality data for re-credentialing
- Coordinate public quality reporting and serve as liaison with reporting agencies
- Ensure required measures are collected, validated and accurately reported to internal and external entities
- Oversee staff development, performance evaluations, counseling and hiring for all direct reporting areas
- Develop and maintain policies and procedures for all assigned functions
- Manage budgets for areas of direct responsibility
- Facilitate and support process improvement teams and provide needed staff resources
- Stay current on industry-wide best practices and evaluate opportunities for adoption
- Educate governing boards and administrative leaders on trends in SQPE management
- Maintain and regularly update required management plans such as environment of care, safety or performance improvement plans
- Partner with education teams to ensure training aligns with process improvement recommendations
- Develop and track productivity standards for all direct reports
- Ensure all direct report departments understand and comply with regulatory standards
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- Master’s Degree OR Bachelor’s Degree with 10 years of relevant, progressive healthcare management experience and full knowledge of SQPE functions
- Eight (8) years of relevant healthcare management experience with full understanding of hospital requirements for SQPE
- Certified Professional Healthcare Quality (CPHQ)
Preferred Qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- Registered Nurse (RN)
- Certified Patient Safety Professional (CPPS)
- Healthcare Accreditation Certification Program (HACP) or Certified Joint Commission Professional (CJCP)
- Certified in Infection Control (CIC)
- Certified Patient Experience Professional (CPXP)
- Process Improvement Certification preferred: Lean, Six Sigma, etc.
- Prior leadership in hospital quality OR has significant CI experience leading quality improvement

Pay Range
Minimum Annual Salary: $130,850.00
Maximum Annual Salary: $209,382.50
