The Cleveland Clinic (CC) is recruiting for a pediatric gastroenterologist with specific expertise in nutritional management to join the Department of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition at Cleveland Clinic Children’s.
The ideal applicant is board certified/board eligible in pediatric gastroenterology. For qualified applicants there is clinical leadership potential within our Department and nutritional support programs, tailored to areas of interest.
Our well-established, highly collegial, and nationally recognized team of fifteen pediatric gastroenterologists and an NIH – funded nutrition-gut microbiome focused translational researcher, care for pediatric and young adult patients with gastrointestinal disorders on the GI service at the main tertiary/quaternary care inpatient care hospital in Cleveland, provide consultation expertise for patients and Pediatric Hospital Medicine or Neonatology colleagues at 2 community-based secondary inpatient care hospitals and the pediatric-dedicated CC Children’s Hospital for Rehabilitation, as well as outpatient campuses in Cleveland as well as several satellite locations and family health centers serving the region.
We have designated disease – specific nurse care coordinators and ambulatory nurses along with dietitians and an incredible, supportive administrative team within our department. In addition, we partner closely with a GI psychologist and pediatric social worker team. Our department includes five board – certified pediatric transplant hepatologists along with an additional pediatric gastroenterologist focused on the care of children with hepatobiliary disorders including fatty liver disease. We have an active liver transplant program performing all types of liver transplantation including living related donor, and active small bowel, multi-visceral, and pancreas transplantation programs. Primary nutritional programs include intestinal rehabilitation and nutritional support (with an established multidisciplinary care team). Our dedicated clinical dietitians actively collaborate clinically and educationally, as well as support departmental research initiatives. Other established multidisciplinary programs include clinics focused on metabolic/glycogen storage diseases, IBD, eosinophilic esophagitis, aerodigestive care (PCAVS), neurogastrointestinal/motility, and pancreaticobiliary diseases. Our Children’s Hospital has a state-of-the-art endoscopy suite and motility lab featuring high resolution equipment within the Pediatric Outpatient Center. We also have a dedicated infusion center within the Outpatient Center.
In addition to clinical care responsibilities, members of the Department are involved in research (clinical, basic science, and translational research), quality and patient safety initiatives, and medical school and residency education. Cleveland Clinic Children’s research infrastructure supports both investigator-initiated and industry-funded research, and the department researchers are supported with a variety of funding sources including internal grants, corporate partners, and external foundation and NIH awards. Our highly competitive fellowship program graduates two fellows each year. Academic faculty and teaching appointments are available with Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University. We actively collaborate with digestive disease and microbiome interested researchers at the internationally recognized Cleveland Clinic Lerner Research Institute (LRI) and within the Digestive Disease Surgery Institute. Opportunities for research appointments at LRI are available per programmatic review.

A successful candidate’s actual compensation will be determined in accordance with fair market value, considering factors such as professional experience, clinical expertise, board certification, work history, and FTE. This stated range excludes the value of Cleveland Clinic’s comprehensive benefits package, which includes healthcare, dental, vision, retirement, and other offerings.
