Administrative and Business Professionals

Congratulations!

Congratulations on your new position on our Environmental Services (EVS) team, and welcome to the Cleveland Clinic family! We know you’ll be an important member of our team and help ensure that everyone who comes through our doors has a clean and safe environment.

What You Need to Know Before Day 1

Before your start date, you will need to log into Cleveland Clinic’s Workday program, complete a health assessment survey, and authorize a background check.

Note: All upcoming communications will be sent primarily via email. Please check your inbox as well as your spam/junk folder regularly before your start date.

  • Logging into Workday: Log into Workday to access and accept welcome letter.
  • Welcome Letter: Welcome letter with Occupational Health date and times will arrive within 1-2 business days.
  • Welcome Call: After receiving offer, pre-boarding team will conduct welcome call.
  • Occupational Health Assessment: Register and complete Occupational Health assessment surveys on a laptop or computer.
  • Onboarding Appointments: Complete Occupational Health appointments.
    • Not attending this appointment does not mean you are turning down the job offer. Please notify your recruiter via text, voicemail or email.
    • Please reach out to the Onboarding team to reschedule your onboarding appointment, need a start date adjustment, have nicotine questions, etc.
  • Background Check: Follow instructions from Certiphi to complete background check.

You’re well on your way to your start date at Cleveland Clinic! After you attend your onboarding appointments, here’s what happens next:

  • Receive your Occupational Health results from CCAC-HR (ccachrappointment@ccf.org).
    • You should expect to hear about your clearance one week before your start date (Wednesday is latest date).
  • Follow instructions from Learning Technologies email to register for online new caregiver experience orientation.

First Day as a Caregiver (Work from Home)

On your first day as a Cleveland Clinic caregiver, you will attend an online virtual new caregiver experience orientation from home. This should take about 4 hours, but you will be paid for the entire day.

  • Orientation begins at 7:45 a.m.

  • You are required to attend this orientation.
  • After the virtual orientation, please complete the self-guided modules.

Following the video conference, you will receive an email about department orientation, which takes place the next day at the facility where you will be working.

First Shift as a Caregiver/Department Orientation (On-Site)

Congratulations, you’ve made it! You’re ready to start your first shift as an official Cleveland Clinic caregiver at the department orientation.

  • Dress Code: Dress is business casual (no jeans). Additionally, please wear footwear that is comfortable and fully encloses your feet (no Crocs). You will receive your uniform when you arrive.
  • Arrive on Time: Please be sure to arrive at the facility in time to clock in at the start of your shift. This is especially important if you will be working at Cleveland Clinic Main Campus, which is very large.

  • Practice Your Route: Some other locations shuttle employees from a designated parking area to the facility, so you want to make sure you arrive in plenty of time. If possible, we recommend that you practice your route ahead of time.

For Main Campus caregivers: On your second day, you will have an on-site orientation from 9:00 a.m. — 3:30 p.m.at the facility where you will be working. You will receive your uniform at this orientation and begin your regularly scheduled shift on your third day.
