Accredited by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM), the Union Hospital Sleep Medicine Center has helped more than 10,000 people overcome a sleep disorder like apnea, loud snoring, restless leg syndrome, narcolepsy and daytime sleepiness. As the Lead Polysomnographic Technician Registered Reader, you will be responsible for scoring both pediatric and adult sleep studies. Types of studies will include PSG, CPAP, BIPAP, HSAT, MSLT, MWT, Double studies, RBD studies and Inspire and Provent. You will also oversee the work performed by the Polysomnographic Technician Registered Readers ensuring the team is up-to-date on meeting their requirements. Your work is essential to ensuring we are meeting accreditation standards and that we have the supplies needed to best care for patients.

A caregiver in this position works days from 6:00AM – 6:00PM or nights from 5:00PM – 5:00AM, with some weekend requirements.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:

Assist Sleep Supervisor in the assessment of the competency of technologists.

Oversee the productivity and accuracy of the Polysomnographic Technician Registered Reading team.

Monitor for quality assurance in accordance with Cleveland Clinic Sleep Disorders Center policies and procedures and established guidelines from American Academy of Sleep Medicine Scoring Standards.

Perform all duties of a Polysomnographic Technician Registered Reader.

Provide education to staff and all sleep technologists regarding best practices in reading sleep studies.

Provide mentorship to enhance the skill sets of other Readers and sleep technologists, help in the development of the ASTEP program in conjunction with the Program Direction and potentially be asked to provide instruction to ASTEP students.

Potentially present interscorer reliability findings and review at sleep technologist and sleep staff meetings.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

Current RPSGT credential from the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (BRPT)
-
Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT)
-
Five or more years of experience with testing and scoring both adult and pediatric patients (strong focus)
-
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
-
Ability to accurately identify sleep stages, respiratory events, along with all other parameters pertaining to sleep testing
-
Successfully meet and uphold the scoring requirements set by the American Academy of Sleep of Medicine (AASM) for the inter-scorer reliability (ISR)
-
Ability to effectively oversee and provide feedback to sleep technologists and scorers to help improve upon the overall scoring and testing in the sleep center
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

Familiarity with the accreditation process
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to sit for long periods at a time in front of a computer identifying sleep stages and all other sleep parameters.
- The ability to assist patients in and out of bed in the event patient care is required.
Personal Protective Equipment:
- Gloves are mandatory when working directly with patients.
- Mask and protective gowns are optional for patient care.
Pay Range
Minimum hourly: $25.13
Maximum hourly: $38.33
