As a Research Assistant, you will help facilitate this vision by assisting with the implementation and conduct of human subject research projects for Multiple Sclerosis. In this role, you will support the study start-up team, collaborate with various imaging modalities, and work closely with multiple study teams engaged in research that drives innovation and advances clinical care. While you will support all studies, your primary focus will be the assessment validation study in the Assessment Center. This position directly upholds Cleveland Clinic’s mission and vision by maintaining the highest standards of care, sharing knowledge that benefits patients, and contributing to world-class clinical excellence.
As part of the dedicated team at the Mellen Center, which prides itself on unified clinical and research collaboration, you will also have opportunities for professional growth. The role is primarily based at Main Campus, with additional support provided to regional locations including Hillcrest, Twinsburg, Fairview and Lorain.
A caregiver in this position works days from 8:00 a.m. — 5:00 p.m. (start/end time flexible)
A caregiver who excels in this role will:

Assist research team with research study related tasks.
-
Assist with completion of protocol related activities.
-
Obtain and maintain clinical competencies such as phlebotomy, vital signs, ECG, POC testing and other testing as required.

Assist with the development and coordination of the research subject schedule in compliance with the research protocol.

Assist with the collection, recording and maintenance of research study records.
-
Demonstrate comprehension of assigned research protocols.
-
Develop and maintain knowledge of research protocols to coordinate the comprehensive and compliant execution of assigned protocols.
-
May assist in the development and maintenance of research tools, such as spreadsheets, questionnaires and/or brochures.

Maintain study personnel certification records (License, CV, CITI).
-
Establish and maintain filing systems.
-
Order and stock supplies.
-
Maintain professional relationships, including frequent and open effective communication with internal and external customers.

Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

High School Diploma/GED
-
Demonstrated proficiency with a variety of computer-based skills, including Word processing, spreadsheets, and database and presentation software

Understand basic concept of study design
-
Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
-
Comfortable with technology
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

One year of experience in a healthcare setting OR Bachelor’s Degree

Knowledge of medical terminology
-
Background/experience in a medical setting
-
Ability to assist with the research protocol
-
Willing to complete phlebotomy certification, if needed
Physical Requirements:

Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods

Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment

Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information

In some locations, ability to move up to 25 pounds

Pay Range
Minimum hourly: $16.47
Maximum hourly: $23.61
