Cleveland Clinic Florida is looking to add a Registered Dietitian to the team who will support patients at all Martin Health Hospitals, including Martin North, Martin South and Tradition. The Registered Dietitian will provide individualized medical nutrition therapy, education and counseling to patients, helping them to regain and/or improve their health. This role works collaboratively with other health disciplines and departments to optimize nutrition care and patient experience. By taking on this opportunity, you will be provided with hands-on learning as well as the chance to continue your education.
A PRN caregiver in this position works varying days from 8:00AM – 4:30PM.
This caregiver will work between all three Martin Health Hospitals, typically one location per shift.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:

Provide direct patient care using medical nutrition therapy for an assigned patient population.

Provide counseling and education services to patients with disease processes that require nutritional management.

Implement a nutritional care plan, communicate plan, establish a follow-up system and maintain documentation.

Write changes for diet orders and initiate nutrient intake assessments.

Assess patients for signs and symptoms of nutritional deficiencies and evaluate appropriate fluid and electrolytes.

Review laboratory and clinical progress notes and inform physicians of patients' nutritional status and need for changes in diet.

Coordinate efforts of dietetic technician assigned to area.

Develop and contribute to Cleveland Clinic sponsored education programs for physicians, nurses, allied health professionals, students, peers and the public.

Create and revise education materials related to disease management through medical nutrition therapy.

Participate in program development designed to market and expand departmental services and revenue generation.

Market services to potential and current referral sources and develop and implement services in response to client's needs and wants.

Actively contribute to departmental initiatives, including committees and projects.

Support the dietetic internship program as a supervised practice rotation preceptor and class instructor.

Complete reports for ongoing productivity tracking.

Participate in professional growth activities.
-
Attend and contribute to conferences and seminars on nutrition and related topics.

Represent Cleveland Clinic on nutrition related matters.
-
Conduct clinical research and utilize clinical software applications to facilitate care.

Comply with all regulatory organizations including CMS, JCAO, ADA and policies and procedures of the department and Cleveland Clinic.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
-
Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition, Dietetics or a closely related field

Maintain current license to practice Dietetics in the state of Florida (LD)

Active certification as a Registered Dietitian (RD)

One year of experience as a Registered Dietitian in clinical nutrition

OR successful completion of a Dietetic Internship Program

Ability to navigate extensively to provide services to a large number of patients throughout the hospital and manual dexterity sufficient to perform computer entry.
