The Stanley Shalom Zielony Institute for Nursing Excellence

There are nearly 26,000 nursing caregivers on staff who are bringing Cleveland Clinic-quality care to each and every patient every day. With a variety of job placement options, continuing education programs (including certification preparation), observation opportunities and extensive benefits (including tuition reimbursement), Cleveland Clinic is a leading place for nursing practice among the nation’s top healthcare systems. Cleveland Clinic takes pride in mentoring and developing new nursing professionals. We challenge our nurses early in their careers with student nurse employment options, educational rotations and self-directed learning formats, all while they are working in a dynamic and technologically advanced environment.

Home Healthcare - The Future of Healthcare

Home healthcare is one of the fastest growing industries in the U.S. and is said to be the healthcare setting of the future. With this tremendous growth and the complexity of care involved, the role of the home healthcare nurse has evolved dramatically. Home healthcare nurses appreciate the autonomy and flexibility the job offers, as well as team support that’s available when needed. Due to the complexity of home healthcare nursing, nurses in this specialty must have one year of inpatient nursing experience prior to working in this setting. At Cleveland Clinic, we also require registered nurses to obtain their Bachelor of Science degree in nursing within three years of being hired.

An Exciting Place to be a Perioperative Nurse

As a world leader in healthcare known for its leading-edge technology and renowned surgeons, Cleveland Clinic is an exciting place to be a perioperative nurse. With more than 240 inpatient and ambulatory operating rooms, Cleveland Clinic performs more than 216,000 surgical cases as an enterprise annually. Our perioperative surgical nurses have the opportunity to teach, learn and grow in their careers. Along with learning how to provide the safest care for our surgical patients, they learn the many technical aspects involved in their overall scrub and circulating responsibilities. Our perioperative nurses direct their nursing careers by selecting a surgical specialty that is most desirable to them. They also have the chance to be directly involved in perioperative research, with the potential to advance surgical nursing practice.
