Material Handlers are responsible for the replenishment supplies, linens and materials to ensure caregivers have immediate access to the tools necessary to provide patient support. A caregiver in this position works four 10-hour evening shifts Monday – Thursday from 1:30PM – 12:00AM.
A caregiver who excels in this role will: Â
- Provide support to the hospital supervisor on project work.Â
- Collaborate with management to improve daily activities.Â
- Support areas that care for patients with higher level of acuity and volume.Â
- Receive products from shipping and receiving area, unpack and inspect items for damage, verify accuracy of shipment and input information in the warehouse management system.Â
- Receive, sort, put away, pick and deliver supplies, mail, patient records and other items as required. Â Â
- Rotate stock and check for outdates.Â
- Handle returns by completing technical documentation and other required communication.Â
- Support Site Managers with communications with customers to fulfill areas’ stocking needs and anticipate future needs.Â
- Deliver supplies and materials to appropriate floors and health care facilities.Â
- Monitor the flow of traffic into dock areas, prioritizing deliveries and the safe receipt of goods and supplies.Â
- Put away freight, supplies, packages, and perishable items from dock facilities using materials handling equipment.Â
- Verify accuracy of shipments, check for damage to goods and document variances of orders.Â
- Prepare goods and supplies for distribution, prioritizing deliveries, sorting and labeling loads ensuring the safe, correct and timely delivery of orders.Â
- Stock picking locations using warehouse management system, either manually or utilizing materials handling equipment according to identifying information (size, style, and numbers) ensuring the safe movement of materials.Â
- Perform physical count of stock for inventory control verification.Â
- Survey, fill and stock nursing floors and clinical areas to maintain inventory levels.Â
- Unload and unpack cases and stocks designated storage areas with supplies.Â
- Perform routine expiry management duties to meet KPIs. Â
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: Â
- Meet all Cleveland Clinic insurance requirementsÂ
- May require appropriate Valid Driver's License (VDL) to drive box trucks
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: Â
- High School Diploma or GEDÂ
- One year of Materials Management or related experienceÂ
- Inventory knowledge and basic computer skillsÂ

- Manual dexterity to operate office equipment
- Frequent sitting, standing and walking to various locations to attend meetings

- Personal transportation to travel to multiple sites
