Cleveland Clinic's Children's Hospital for Rehabilitation is looking for multiple Autism Classroom Behavior Technician's at level I or level II. Placement will be determined based upon experience and requirements outlined below. Our facilities are dedicated to treatment, education, and research for children, adolescents, young adults, and families dealing with autism spectrum disorders. The Lerner School is a full year center-based program that utilizes the principles of ABA. The school serves students diagnosed with autism aged 2-22.
A caregiver in this position works days, from 8:00am—5:00pm.
Autism Classroom Behavior Technician I:
-
Acquire baseline data and implement approved programs using behavioral technology appropriately, neutrally, and consistently.

Follow the prompting hierarchy.
-
Utilize SDs that are clear, concise, and consistent.
-
Consistently redirect challenging behavior when appropriate and maintain neutrality when working through challenging behavior.
-
Correctly implement PTT techniques and make appropriate changes to student's curriculum.
-
Maintain professional communication (written and verbal) with families and co-workers.
-
Follow student's daily schedule and create monthly summaries and progress reports.
-
Create and prepare materials. Implements student's Individual Education Plan (IEP).
-
Identify programs that require troubleshooting.
-
Meet with coordinating teacher to choose next targets.
Autism Classroom Behavior Technician II:
-
Implement discrete trial teaching procedures across a variety of students and functioning levels; utilizes prompt fading, naturalistic teaching, shaping, and chaining procedures; utilizes leader-prompter model and group reinforcement during small group instruction.

Select appropriate task analyses and teaching targets based on student's goals/objectives; monitor, analyze and troubleshoot programs; align students' curriculum to work in a dyad; prepare lesson plans incorporating Ohio academic content standards and appropriate materials.

Collect, analyze, and maintain behavior data; implement differential reinforcement procedures; apply schedules of reinforcement; utilize functional communication teaching.

Act as a mentor for new staff; develops graphs for parent communication; attends home visits; assists with student transitions.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver for the Classroom Behavior Therapist I and II include:

Associate or Bachelor's degree in a related field.

OR High School diploma/GED and two years of relevant experience (which includes at least three months of ABA experience for CBT I and six months for CBT II).

Educational Aide Permit (EAP) through the Ohio Department of Education: permit must be pending prior to start date; or Ohio Teaching License (OTC).

Six months of experience working with children with autism utilizing applied behavior analysis or a Teaching License in related area plus three months of experience working with children with autism utilizing applied behavior analysis (CBT II).
