Eligibility & Requirements

Cleveland Clinic complies with the federal Covid mandate. This means the Cleveland Clinic no longer requires the Covid vaccination for new or current caregivers.
Cleveland Clinic is a drug and smoke-free environment. All new caregivers must pass a drug and nicotine test. If you currently are a nicotine user, resources are available to support you in quitting, on your journey to becoming a Cleveland Clinic caregiver, or you may choose the path to quit that works best for you.
Cleveland Clinic is a nicotine-free organization, you can apply, but all new caregivers must clear a nicotine test within their 90-day new hire period. If you are a current smoker and you need support to quit, please review the PDF.

Cleveland Clinic does not accept medical marijuana cards. Any new employee that uses medical marijuana would not be in compliance with Cleveland Clinic’s drug policy.
At the time of application, you will be required to answer a few Human Resources policy questions. Some positions require additional prescreening questions including years of experience and specific questions related to the minimum qualifications of the job. You can expect to complete prescreening questions with a recruiter or via a prerecorded video interview.
Yes. If you have ever been convicted of or pled guilty to a felony, you will be required to provide details of the conviction or guilty plea to your recruiter (i.e., date, nature of events, time served, etc.). The felony conviction will not automatically disqualify you from consideration. The details will remain confidential from the hiring manager.
Yes, there is not a limit to the number of applications you can submit.
As a prior caregiver, there is a field in the application process that will allow you to disclose any previous names you were employed under. We also encourage prior caregivers to include your Cleveland Clinic work history in your application or on your resume. If rehired, your employee ID will likely be the same as when you left.

How to Apply

Although you are not required to apply with a resume, it is encouraged so we can understand your full experience. We recommend you include your education, work and volunteer experiences. This will help us understand what makes you, “You”.
Yes. You can track your application status by logging into your Workday Candidate profile that you created when you applied.
Applicants can change their contact information by visiting Jobs.ClevelandClinic.org, clicking Application Status located on the upper right side of the screen, and clicking All Other Positions. Log in to the Candidate Home on the lower right side of the screen, then click Update Contact Information. This will update both submitted applications as well as future applications.
Cleveland Clinic has a job search assistant tool to help you search for a position on our careers page. You can engage this assistant by clicking on the “We can help” box at the bottom right corner of our careers page. Please follow the prompts to engage and find the position you are looking for.
If you are a current Cleveland Clinic caregiver and you are interested in exploring new opportunities, please access our career opportunities through your ONE HR: Workday and Portal. From your Workday home screen, under your apps, you can click on “Careers,” and then “Find jobs.” From this screen you can filter opportunities by location, shift, job type, etc. Should you decide to move forward with an interview for a new opportunity, we encourage you to talk with your current manager about your desire to explore other opportunities within the organization.
If you have been in your position for less than a year, a transfer waiver may be required. Prior to submitting a transfer waiver, please discuss your request with your current manager. To submit a transfer waiver, you will need to log in to Workday and select “Requests” from your app menu. From the “Actions” menu, you will click “Create request,” and then from the request type, you can click “All” and then select “Transfer waiver.” Once you complete and submit the form, it will then route to your hiring manager.

What to expect after Applying

A Cleveland Clinic caregiver will review your application and you will be notified of the next steps in the process. This notification primarily comes through email but may also include a text message or phone call.
Yes. You can track your application status by clicking the “Application Status” dropdown in the upper right hand corner of the careers page and selecting the applicable link.
For the majority of Cleveland Clinic positions, you will receive a text and email notification to opt-in to receive text messages from Cleveland Clinic Recruitment within 15 minutes. Once you opt-in, you will want to follow the prompts and answer the questions to the best of your ability.
If qualified for the position, you will receive a text or email with the next steps at the top of the hour. This would include a request to schedule a live interview or complete an on-demand video interview. If you are not qualified for the position, a recruiter will review your application and touch base with you regarding the next steps.

During your offer and onboarding call, your recruiter will discuss any additional orientation requirements and work with both your releasing and receiving manager to confirm your transfer date. If you are changing locations or job types, you may need to obtain a new badge and/or parking pass. Your recruiter will work with you and discuss how and where to obtain a new badge, if applicable.

Accepting an Offer

  • You will receive an email with your login, welcome, and formal offer letter.
  • You will receive an Occupational Health Screening notification via email.
  • A background check by a third-party organization will be launched.
  • You will then receive a link via email to complete pre-boarding requirements.
You will receive an email with your login, welcome, and formal offer letter. You will also receive emails in the upcoming days regarding setting up an Occupational Health Appointment (drug screen and nicotine test) and an I-9 Verification appointment (Employment Eligibility).
You will receive an email with your login, welcome, and offer letter, and your manager’s contact information is listed in the offer letter.
You will receive your parking assignment at your onboarding appointment, if applicable. Your photo will be taken during your onboarding appointment for your ID badge.
