TheLiver Disease Research Center in the Department of Pathobiology at theCleveland Clinic Lerner Research institute invites applications for a newfaculty position at the Assistant or Associate Professor/Staff position.  Exceptional candidates at the Professor/Stafflevel will also be considered.

Applicantsshould have a Ph.D., D.V.M., M.D., or equivalent degree with postdoctoraltraining and show exceptional promise for a career in academic science. We areinterested in individuals who study basic cellular and molecular processes,and/or translational approaches, to understand the pathogenesis and treatmentof liver disease.

 Areas of research interest include, but are not limited to:

· innateand adaptive immune responses in liver disease

· gut/liverinteractions in health and disease

· regulationof fibrosis

· cell-cellinteractions in liver pathology

· systemsand/or computational approaches

The successful candidate will be expected to establish an innovative,extramurally funded research program. The new faculty member will join acollaborative, interdisciplinary group of investigators.  Interactions with excellent clinical programsare readily available and provide the potential to develop multi-disciplinaryand translational research programs.  TheLerner Research Institute has a strong tradition of collaborative research andwell-developed training programs for pre- and post-doctoral MD and PhDtrainees.  Outstanding facilities andgenerous start-up funds are available. Salary will be commensurate withacademic credentials and experience
