Monitors and analyzes major external trends facing Cleveland Clinic and facilitates the development of perspectives to inform our various planning efforts. Develops Strategy Office plan for streaming new information to the organization. Leads and conducts major analysis for the Strategy Office. Works closely with a range of internal customers, including Strategy Office and senior executives, sharing market and other data insights.Identifies and monitors major external trends (e.g., industry, regulatory, competitive) facing Cleveland Clinic and the Healthcare industry. Identifies key external sources of information that Cleveland Clinic should be monitoring/acquiring. Acts as a subject matter expert in current Healthcare trends, business impact of major regulatory changes and major changes in local competitive landscape. Conducts key analysis in support of various planning efforts and projects across the Enterprise. Conducts comprehensive analysis incorporating a diverse range of sources to arrive at a targeted, concise and informative business case report. Conducts analysis of major trends, e.g., impact of reform, shifts in payer coverage, major workforce trends, industry overall consolidation, development of Accountable Care Organizations and other value-based care organizations, major trends in key economic drivers. Identifies new data sources for the development and analysis of external trends. Utilizing full operational knowledge of a broad base of market data, identifies and recommends new data sources for the development and analysis of new market research capabilities. Recommends operational processes for the collection and purchase of data; defines quality assurance processes and, working with IT resources, helps create overall data and analysis flow processes. May lead analysis teams to complete more in-depth enterprise-wide scale projects, including recommendations for improvement/change. Provides guidance directly to executive management and other senior leaders related to market strategies for new and existing initiatives. Creates custom reports focused on enterprise-wide issues. Facilitates the creation of perspective papers on various trends and impact on Cleveland Clinic working with other areas of the Enterprise (e.g., Marketing, Government Relations, Market and Network Services) to assist in the strategic planning at the Enterprise and Institute levels. Develops executive level communications to be used in strategic planning and other strategic conversations. Develops a strategy and channels for streaming information to decision-makers throughout Cleveland Clinic which may include recommendations on news feeds, website materials, push communications, etc. Will work with Enterprise communications and marketing to develop the strategy. Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree in Health Care Administration, Business Administration or related field required. Master's Degree highly preferred.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION: None required.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: A minimum of eight years of experience in strategic planning, market research or another relevant position; a Master s degree may offset 4 years of experience. Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills; solid business instincts. Proven skills in guiding leadership thinking on critical projects and the ability to take an ownership of projects with competing deadlines. Critical thinking/problem-solving, change leadership mindset, understanding of Healthcare industry, senior relationship and presentation skills, ability to work stand alone, creativity.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Manual dexterity to operate office equipment. May require periods of sitting, standing and the ability to walk to various locations throughout the health system to attend meetings. Must have normal or corrected vision and be able to clearly communicate verbally by phone or in person. Must have own transportation to travel to multiple sites.
