This JIC is for 1st/2nd/3rd shifts, FT/PT/PRN (on-call) positions that may be available at the following locations: Main Campus and/or Fairview Hospital.
Clinical Engineer Tech II
Summary: Participates in equipment planning, research, support and departmental projects. Installs, maintains and repairs medical equipment.
Job Responsibilities: Provides routine and as needed clinical engineering services (repair, maintenance, relocation, installation, etc) for equipment as assigned. Maintains documentation of equipment, inventory, service and repairs. Collaborates with information technology staff to integrate medical equipment systems with information systems applications. Performs preventative maintenance and repairs on equipment as assigned. Other duties as assigned.
Education: Associate's Degree in Biomedical or Electronic Engineering required. Bachelor's Degree preferred.
Experience: Two to three years of CCF clinical Eng Tech I experience or five years outside experience maintaining and troubleshooting general electronics. Assigned specialty area is imaging and focused experience in this area is highly preferred, may require additional training, education and/or experience. (Hospital Bed specialty requires four years training as a machinist or electromachinist and on the job experience with hospital beds.)
Licensure/Certification/Registration: CBET preferred.
Physical Requirements: Physical demands include ability to lift up to 75 pounds; to climb 8-foot ladders and work on overhead equipment. Ability to work in prone positions and in confined, darkened areas. Manual dexterity to use tools and work on small mechanical parts. Visual acuity sufficient to distinguish colors used for wire color coding and read finely printed blueprints and schematics.
Clinical Engineer Tech I
Summary: Responsible for the installation, maintenance and repair of medical equipment.

Maintains documentation of equipment, inventory, service and repairs. Performs preventative maintenance and repairs on equipment as assigned. Other duties as assigned.
Education: Associate's Degree in Biomedical or Electrical Engineering preferred.
Experience: If degree, no experience required. If no degree, two years relevant experience troubleshooting and maintaining electrical equipment. Equivalent specialized or military training may substitute for the degree. Some specialty area may require a specific education focus or experience (Bed speciality requires 4 years machinist or electro-machinist).
Licensure/Certification/Registration: Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET) preferred. Physical Requirements: Typical physical demands include ability to lift up to 50 lbs.; ability to climb 8-foot ladders and work on overhead equipment. Ability to work in prone positions and in confined, darkened areas. Sufficient manual dexterity to use hand and power tools and work on small mechanical parts. We are an enterprise support group and may require a technician to travel between work sites & on-call.
