JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for analyzing large amounts of clinical data and turning key findings into strategic recommendations for specific clinical areas. Optimizes the clinical use of existing and new sources of electronic clinical data related to population health management. Educates and communicates to key stakeholders internally and externally to Cleveland Clinic regarding financial and clinical outcomes reporting.

Job Responsibilities: Manages staff and resources and is responsible for compiling data into presentations in a manner that is easily accessible by clinical information consumers. Develops appropriate methodologies for collecting and analyzing clinical data. Develops innovative recommendations to achieve successes related to population health management initiatives (medical home, shared saving) and impact quality and efficiency in the delivery model resulting in a positive impact to clinical and financial outcomes.

Drives the design of financial and clinical outcomes reporting based on medical claims, pharmacy claims, disease registries and electronic health records. Assess clinical and/or business processes to identify new reporting or information needs. The outcomes reporting will have several end users: care coordinators, physicians, financial leadership, etc.

Leads the two-way flow of information and communication for establishing and maintaining understanding between Finance, Contracting, Clinical Decision Support and the Quality Alliance. Maintains excellent relationships with the institutes and other important areas that are critical to Cleveland Clinic's success.

Knowledge of IT, statistics and medicine will enable this role to work across the organization to help define clinical and operational strategy. Oversee the process of identifying, assessing, designing and delivering new analytic offerings. Create and efficiently plans projects, including organizing and leading group meetings. Supports new business and ad-hoc business opportunities requiring a tailored approach.

Experience: Minimum six years of finance related experience and three years of supervisory and/or project management experience required.

Education: Bachelor's degree required. Master's preferred.

Additional Information: Experience related to population health management including analytical experience and applicable clinical experience in a health plan, hospital and/or medical practice. Ability to influence others to drive change at all levels of the organization. Proven ability to transform data into relevant/inspiring information required. Ability to generate reports. Experience with concepts in grouping software: DRGs, MS-DRGs and APR-DRGs. Understanding of ICD-9/10 and CPT coding principles. In-depth knowledge of special and general reimbursement population health methodologies. Knowledge of system design and database techniques (SQL, SAS, MS Visual Basic, Microsoft Access a plus)
