The Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health has locations in Las Vegas, Nevada, Cleveland and Lakewood, Ohio, and Weston, Florida. The program is led by neuroscientist Jeffrey Cummings, MD, ScD. Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health provides diagnosis and ongoing treatment for patients with cognitive disorders, supports family members and has active clinical trials programs.
SUMMARY: The MRI Image Analyst is responsible for analysis and processing, the programming of all image analysis software, pulse sequence programming and basic computer networking for MRI, CT and PET images. NOTE: In this role, the individual will work in structural and functional neuroimaging (MRI, fMRI, PET) data analysis and to assist with implementation and analysis of neuroimaging experiments. Current research interests of the Institute are Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, Huntington’s disease, Multiple Systems Atrophy, frontotemporal dementia, and multiple sclerosis. The Lou Ruvo Center has a state-of-the-art Siemens 3-Tesla magnet as well as a Siemens PET CT.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for all image analysis and image processing for functional MRI, Diffuse Tensor Imaging (DTI) and quantitative analysis of MR imaging as well as CT and PET images. Adapts commercially available software to networking computer systems. Develops new software for specific projects. Participates with professional staff to help with data processing of all funded research projects. Maintains research data bases. Other duties as assigned.
For this role, specific job duties will include:
Performing data analysis for new and ongoing projects; helping set up standardized "pipelines" for data analysis.
Collaborating with Research Investigators to carry out neuroimaging experiments, including experimental design, data collection, and analysis.
Implementing new research tools and carrying out data analysis.
Assisting in writing papers, grants, and presentations.
Documenting work flow of data analysis, research tools and procedures
EDUCATION: Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, or related field. Master's Degree preferred, especially those with degree in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Physics, or related discipline.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION: None required.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the MRI field, related to image processing and analysis.
PREFERENCE FOR INDIVIDUALS WITH THE FOLLOWING EXPERIENCE:
Strong programming skills (Linux, Unix, Matlab, C).
Strong organizational, communication, written and verbal skills.
Strong mathematical, statistical and analytical skills.
Experience in signal and image processing.
Experience with fMRI.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Manual dexterity to operate office equipment. Ability to lift and transport up to 15 pounds. May require extended periods of standing, walking, and sitting. Good visual acuity through normal or corrected vision.
PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT: Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
